Your role as a Product Owner

The Product Owner defines what the product will look like and what features it should contain. They will be expected to incorporate stakeholder feedback to achieve the highest value within the product increments in every sprint. Product Owners maintain the product backlog, as well as create documentation and communicate, to ensure that everyone knows the priorities. ​


What you will be doing:

  • Develop and execute product strategy for their product area in partnership with their PM
  • Own and maintain the product roadmap for their product area​
  • Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market for their product area​
  • Collaborate with product marketing to align on key differentiators positioning and messaging​
  • Manage all aspects of product life cycle in their product area, including but not limited to customer feedback, requirements, issues, etc.
  • Responsible for delivering a quality product​
  • Translate requirements into epics and stories in alignment of product strategy
  • Creates Business cases for new features
  • Ensures all features are properly documented and aligned with Product Strategy
  • Prioritizes features and backlog for releases based upon expected value
  • Ensures that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, clear to all
  • Collaborates with the architectures, designers, developers, Scrum team to optimize understanding/performance
  • Other responsibilities as assigned​


What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role.
  • Customer Voice: Represents the customers wants and needs.​
  • Communicator: Knows how to tailor a message to a wide variety of stakeholders.​ ​
  • Decider: Sifts through competing priorities to choose the right product features and prioritize work appropriately.​
  • Empowered. Manages and prioritizes product requirements; makes appropriate recommendations/decisions;​ Business-savvy.
  • Listens to stakeholder feedback and adjusts functionality when possible; ​
  • Persuasive. Collaborates with developers to understand capabilities, and deliver value; ​
  • Knowledgeable. Understands requirements and ensures completed features work correctly; Grasps production challenges.​
  • Available: Is immediately accessible to the team(s) and the stakeholders.​
